    Gentrification was also part of what brought our pretnas to the Main Street area. My mum has told me of the same reservations your mum had to moving to Main, only to be dissuaded by my dad that it was ever getting safer. To protect the nature of the neighbourhood I think we need to focus on keeping the socio-economic and cultural mix that gives the character you're looking for. City Hall flirts with 30-30-30 but never seems to follow through with it. I believe it should be expanded beyond the large, Olympic Village style developments it's currently applied to. Losing Main and 33rd and replacing it, eventually, with a massive amount of market housing leaves a lot of ground to be fought back.And the Canucks run was 93-94 Jon. ;)
